The Board of Building Regulations and Standards - BBRS - is an 11-member board which derives its authority to adopt regulations, administer provisions of the state building code and operate various construction related programs from Massachusetts General Laws chapter 143, sections 93 through 100. The BBRS not only administers the provisions of the state building code but provides the public with information regarding regulations that the BBRS has authority over. Their website provides forms and and lists of officials and guidelines for contractors and people who hire contractors. The BBRS also provides licensing information for inspectors and other programs relating to building codes and other BBRS frequently asked questions including the Contractor Supervisor License exam procedure and forms.
