Professional Development Courses
Construction Supervisor Training is in the final stages of planning 6 new professional development courses. These courses will be offered starting in the very near future. Details of price and duration will be available soon. 7th Edition IRC Courses are being offered now. Register on our web site now to receive first notices of classes as they become available. You are under no obligation to attend any of these classes. We will just be sending you an e-mail notice which will include course offered, location, time, cost, and duration. You will then have the opportunity to register for the class. Register NOW for the 7th Edition IRC Course. As part of this registration you will receive notices of code updates. 7th Edition International Residential Code. This is a comprehensive review of the new residential code and will be offered to licensed construction supervisors only. This course will focus on Wood Frame Construction Manual for 110 MPH Exposure B+C Construction. Courses are available on Martha’s Vineyard starting Wednesday, June 4, 4:30-7PM Architectural Access (521 CMR). This will be a comprehensive review of the handicap access code. When do existing buildings have to be updated? Requirements for new buildings. Construction details for architects and builders. A must for property owners and managers as well as architects and contractors. Architectural Blue Print Reading. A basic course in blue print reading which will cover both residential and commercial buildings. A must for the contractor to help you better communicate with your architect, supplier and customer Math For The Contractor. Real life math that you can actually use on the job site. Knowledge is a powerful tool that will make you more professional and profitable. Accounting For Contractors. OK, you know how to build. This course will deal with the issues of financing your business, cost estimating, tracking costs and determining profit. The bottom line issues that determine how long you can maintain the dream. Legal Aspects for Contractors. Ouch. This is the stuff that can really hurt you if you are not aware of what’s going on. This course will teach you what you need to know so you know when to see your lawyer. The all important contract and how the law can help you resolve disputes with your clients. This sets up a clear path to dispute resolution.
